After Zimmerman trial, boycotting Florida?

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

In the days since the not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial, protests and demonstrations have been taking place not only in Florida, but across the country.

Some, however, are going a step further.

A petition on has been created to encourage people to boycott tourism in Florida.

It's become a popular trending topic on Twitter, as well as the subject of several Facebook pages. One shows a photo of Mickey Mouse with the caption "just say no."

Parents have said they feel it wouldn't be right for them to visit Florida again, especially if they wanted to bring their children.

They also plan to boycott Florida products, like oranges and orange juice.

Participants in the boycotts claim that if there's no justice in the courts, the state will get it through the economy.

Even Stevie Wonder is a supporter of the boycott and is using his influence on his fans to ask them to do the same.

Some criticize it, however, saying it won't achieve anything.
