Clearwater police say they've seized the largest amount of synthetic marijuana in the city's history, collecting 49 trash bags full of the product from one store alone.
The total haul came to 18,000 packages worth $300,000, police said.
The operation targeted four stores:
Wanna Save, 1362 Cleveland St
Hillcrest Store, 1391 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd.
Super Sonic, 724 S. Missouri Ave.
Danny's Tobacco Shop,1621 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd.
Three suspects were arrested and are expected to be charged; more arrests are possible, police said.
Officers found 49 trash bags full of synthetic marijuana at the Hillcrest store. A total of $15,000 cash was seized from the stores.
The suspects arrested were Jean Bitar, 57; Tarak Allababidi, 19; and Remon Saber Aziz Farg, 33.
Each will likely face multiple counts of possession and sale of synthetic marijuana, police said.
