Police track down ‘cross-dressing’ bank robber

Posted: Updated:

Police in Clearwater say they've nabbed a 29-year-old man who robbed a bank while dressed as a woman.

Daniel Williams of Largo walked into the 1st United Bank on Fort Harrison Avenue on May 24, police said. Police say he walked up to the teller with a note demanding cash.

He was wearing a wig, sunglasses, soft black gloves and a yellow polo shirt.

It happened more than a month ago, but police said they realized Williams had been taken into custody by Belleair police in a separate robbing incident.

After he was identified by witnesses, he was charged.
