A semi truck accident closed a portion of I-275 today, choking traffic heading in and out of Tampa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a southbound sand truck experienced a steering problem and ended up hitting a Buick before veering into the concrete wall along the median. The truck hit two light poles -- knocking one over -- and spewed sand all the way into the northbound lanes before coming to a stop.
Several lanes of I-275 had to be closed while the crash was cleaned up.
In all, four vehicles were damaged but no one was seriously injured, troopers said. No charges will be filed.
