SIMI VALLEY, Calif. -

More than two dozen people were injured during a fireworks accident in Simi Valley, Calif.

Police say a wood platform holding live fireworks tipped over, sending them into the crowd.

One spectator was recording the Independence Day show when it happened.

The show was stopped and everyone was told to leave while the emergency crews already on scene went to help.

Officials say 20 people were taken to local hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.

Another eight were treated at the scene.
