2 found shot in car in DeKalb County; gunman at-large

ATLANTA -

Responding to a 911 call, DeKalb COunty police officers found two people shot in car near Forest East Drive just before 10 p.m. Thursday, FOX 5 Atlanta's Tacoma Perry reports.

Police say a total of three people were in the car. Both of the injured were taken to the hospital, where one of them later died and the other was undergoing surgery as of 5:30 a.m. Friday.

The names of the people in the car have not been made public.

Witnesses told police they saw the shooter run into a house on Forest East Drive. Officers surrounded the house, but did not find anyone inside after they entered it.

Police have not released any information about the shooter or any other suspects.

DeKalb County Police Capt. Lisa Gassner said, "Right now we're going to finish processing the crime scene with the vehicles and the house that we were in. Major Felony detectives have already interviewed all of the witnesses, but they will start going door to door since we had everything shut down, nobody could come or go from their homes right now."

Police also have not commented on what led to the shooting.
