Tampa remembers local businessman Olin Mott

A local businessman who built his fortune on tires has died.

Olin Mott opened his first tire store in Tampa back in 1955. He later expanded to locations in Plant City, Brandon and Temple Terrace.

Mott also gave a lot of his time and money back to the area. He served on the Florida State Fair board for 30 years and even helped bring football to USF.

Mott was also a veteran who served during the Pearl Harbor attack. He was 92 years old.
