Charles Pugh is remaining silent and is bunkered down somewhere unknown to both the public and the police.

Pugh might not be talking, but text messages obtained by Fox 2 News allegedly do the talking for him. They were sent to the mother of the young man alleging inappropriate physical contact with Pugh.

In the text messages, Pugh allegedly seems to worry that the mother would go to the media with allegations of what he may or may not have done with her son.

The following text message was from June 18:

"Please. This will destroy my chances of ever working in Detroit again. And would cause me to have to resign from Council. Please. I've ended the program at Fred D. I'll do anything else u want me to do. This would DESTROY me. Please Ms. (name omitted). I beg you. Please pray for me!! I feel like I've run out of options to even have a normal life. Or even live. Please. I can meet y'all somewhere for dinner. Maybe we can go to church together on Sunday and pray together. Is there anything we can work out?

Then this text message arrived on June 20:

"Hey there. Is there anyway, I could stop by and talk with you and your husband? Please?"

Now those messages were sent two weeks ago before this scandal erupted, that week when Pugh mysteriously disappeared, then resurfaced and had the following dialogue with Fox 2.

Pugh: Is what true?

Fox 2 Cameraman: The allegations that you were having an inappropriate relationship with her son?

Pugh: No, that's crazy.

After that encounter, Pugh has disappeared completely, asking Kevyn Orr, the emergency manager, for a three to four week medical leave. Orr wasn't buying it and stripped Pugh of his pay and his power. Instead of going to the Mayo Clinic, Pugh resurfaced at a Seattle coffee house.

Now this kid is not from a broken home. He has two working parents, and the father told Fox 2 that he was upset with Pugh when he showed up lavishing the unwanted attention on his son.

LeDuff: You say you saw Mr. Pugh in a city vehicle parked in front of your house one day?

Father: It wasn't exactly in front of our house. It was the house next door to ours.

LeDuff: And when you realized it was him, what'd you do?

Father: I snatched our front door open. When I got on the porch, Mr. Pugh pulled off.

LeDuff: Was this after you had spoken to Mr. Pugh?

Mother: Actually at the time that my husband says Mr. Pugh was there, I was on the phone with Mr. Pugh. He was trying to get me to come to him and talk. He asked me could he come to me, could we talk, how could he make this matter go away.

Now the family has filed a criminal complaint in Madison Heights after the teen alleges inappropriate physical contact with Pugh, who allegedly brought him there for a shopping trip. The teen isn't cooperating with police, but he is seeing a counselor right now considering all the unwanted attention.

The police would also like to talk to Pugh.
