Ask nearly anyone how they feel about a trip to their local DMV office to get a new drivers license, and you'll likely get some angry feedback.
Volusia County driver Sonia Jaffey says, "It's a pain! It takes hours."
Fellow driver Jo Smith agrees. "It's awful down there!"
So both were thankful to learn about a new option in Central Florida called Florida Licensing On Wheels, or "FLOW."
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is placing a high value on customer service. Eleven mobile units provide a convenient method to renew a drivers license, obtain a replacement drivers license, change a name or address on a drivers license, get an identification card, renew a vehicle registration and purchase a specialty license plate. However, no written or driving tests are given from mobile units.
The five FLOW mobiles provide services out of a large bus, which makes them great for large and outdoor events. The six Mini-FLOWs are set up at a table, which accommodates smaller venues and indoor events.
