PHILADELPHIA -

Thomas Coffee likes to go by the nick name "bang bang", but now he's being called a new name, accused killer. The 23-year-old stands charged with the Craigslist related murder of a South Jersey man over the weekend,  but his list of Craigslist related crimes may not stop there.

"His number and his description is coming up in several other robberies right in that immediate area," says Homicide Captain James Clark, who admits Coffee is well known to police.

Police sources say Coffee, who has a long list of arrests, used a photo of himself on an ATV to lure 27-year-old Daniel Roland Cook Jr. to the 1400 block of East Walnut Lane Friday night so Cook could buy an ATV for $950. Once there, police say Coffee lured Cook to an alley, robbed him and shot him.

"He is a predator. What he did was use Craigslist, which can be something really good, to lure unsuspecting individuals to this location," Clark told Fox 29.

"You hear about these things and you're like ouch, this is my neighborhood, so its tough," said the victim's neighbor Jim Grierson.

Homicide detectives tracked Coffee down at his Willow Grove home and arrested him for the murder. Now sources say he could be tied to at least four more Craigslist related gun point robberies where a suspect offered to sell an ATV or a motorcycle online, then robbed unsuspecting customers.

"In these instances he robs them, but doesn't shoot them, but very same MO," Clark explained.

Sources tell Fox 29, Northwest Detectives are investigating a case where the suspect agreed to swap a motorcycle for several guns, including an AK-47 style assault rifle. When the customer arrived, the suspect stole his car with the guns inside.

"We're hopeful we'll clear several other robberies that he's done," Clark said.

Police have not charged Coffee yet with these other armed robberies. The murder weapon and those other guns that were stolen have not been recovered. Coffee has a long arrest record and is not cooperating with detectives.

Police say anyone who buys or sells online should always take precautions when meeting someone to make a purchase or sell something. They suggest you always take someone with you. Meet in a public place with people around and always make those transactions during daylight hours.
