    For the first time in 17 years, millions of cicadas are expected to emerge from the soil in the tristate region this summer. The bug-like creatures are harmless to humans.

As predicted, the periodical cicadas that spent the last 17 years dormant, have come back to life, at least in the garden of one New Jersey home.

Author and journalist Warren Bobrow says the insects are making it difficult to work from his home in Morristown.

"It starts at 3 a.m. It's like clock work. There is no escaping them. They are everywhere. They get in your hair. It makes for an interesting experience. I'm not able to work, but I don't mind the creatures," said Bobrow.

The bugs began to surface when the soil reached 64 degrees. The noisy creatures are harmless to humans and reproduce before dying.

Some areas in the Tristate could see as many as a billion cicadas per square mile this summer.

    Many of Major League Baseball's biggest stars will turn out for a special event at Brooklyn's MCU Park.  The 10th Annual New York-Penn League All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The players will be on hand to sign autographs prior to the Celebrity/Civil Service Softball challenge. Rosanna Scotto will be the captain of the blue team. Greg Kelly will be playing, too.
