Outside All Children's Hospital 10 month old Joshua Murphy's aunt read a letter around ,written by the boys mother.
She's still in crisis mode after her child was attacked by a bull-mastif. Pasco deputies originally said Joshua's mother and a neighbor were outside when the boy was attacked, she says otherwise.
"I was right with my son when this happened I was not outside away from him, I turned my head for a second," Jessica Dyrmishi read.
It happened Friday afternoon at a friend's house in Holiday. The attack was vicious and brutal, multiple bites tearing at little Joshua's flesh.
"He has from here to here sewn up ... His neck is stitched from here to here," said Dyrmishi.
The 3 year old dog named Champ, was taken by animal control.
Friends say the baby and the dog had been together many times, and there were never any signs of aggression.
"This dog is the kindest dog I've ever seen it was just a freak accident," said Brani Dunn.
"She didn't go outside and party and come in and baby attacked like you hear, she was there feet from the baby she turned away for a moment there was an attack she reacted," Dyrmishi said.
Fortunately doctors told Joshua's family he will eventually have a full recovery. As for the dog, we're told it's in quarantine and maybe put down.
