Marietta mother goes bald to honor son lost to cancer

A Marietta woman says she plans to go bald for a cure this month. Kelli Tracey lost her young son to brain cancer, so she's honoring him by shaving her head as part of the 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave event.

As Good Day Atlanta's Ron Gant reports, she hopes her efforts will help find a cure for childhood cancer.

Matthew was four years old when doctors discovered a tumor on his brain. He passes away after a tough battle at the young age of 13.
    
Kelli said, "His brain tumor was originally a benign, but underwent a malignant conversion. There was nothing going to slow it down."

Matthew's fight is why his mother is fighting for a cure today.

"If I can tell people about the need for research and support and build awareness that helps me make something good come out of something that was difficult horrendous experience," she said.
