Firefighters in Tampa made an unusual rescue this afternoon. A kitten was stuck in a gap between walls in a downtown parking garage.

The city's Twitter account offered a stream of updates as crews worked to free the black and white cat.

According to the city, parking garage workers found the kitten stuck in the wall of the Twiggs Street garage this morning. Tampa Fire Rescue Engine 1 responded and they were able to pull the adventurous feline out just after noon.

"#WallKitty is out! Fire station ENG 1 responded, & thanks to the parking employees for finding the little guy," the city tweeted.

The kitten was taken to a vet's office to be evaluated. He was given the name 'Wally' at Hillsborough County Animal Services.
