"This really is my pride and joy," said James Bryant.
Handover was always important to James -- he is his dog.
"He's been my best friend," he said.
He's also a final gift from his wife, Gene before he lost her.
"Cancer's nasty man, it takes anybody," he explained.
When Bryant lost his dog last month, he had nothing left.
So he waited. He sat waiting where he slept on the side of the road in Hudson.
After about two weeks, a couple found the dog, heard Bryant's story and brought him back. That led to another reunion.
This time it was father meets daughter.
Jazmine Taylor found her dad when she saw the video on the news.
"I wanted to help and make sure he got in to a place and that he got better," she said.
They've all moved in to a house together with Handover and three granddaughters, all under one roof.
"My daughters have a grandfather," Taylor said.
All because a lost dog that was found.
"Thank you to everyone. I really mean it," he said.
