Shopping, Minus The Mall Crowds

Posted: Updated:

Are crowded stores keeping you from a relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience?

There's an app for that, believe it or not.

This web technology is revolutionizing the way people shop. You can virtually try on anything without actually trying it on!

Buying products online can be a bit of a gamble especially when it comes to sizing up what works for you

Lisa Rios's uncertainty with cyber shoe shopping lead her to try out the website shoefitr.com. According to Rios, "They have this great icon that you click on and it will compare the shoe that you're currently wearing to the shoe you're going to buy and give you a 3D image"

In fact, websites and mobile apps like this are popping up all over, and they're fully equipped with the latest virtual technology to keep you a savvy shopper without actually visiting the store.

It's just an added convenience to shopping online; they have all this info in front of them and they can make a well informed decision without leaving the house.

Hillary Sica works with facial recognition company Modiface. They have an array of apps aimed at helping girls get exactly what they need, right at their finger tips.

According to Sica, "We offer a variety of different simulation technology such as cosmetics, skin care, nails, eye color, even weight loss [and] all you have to do is snap a photo right from your device while your in the application and start."

Are you hating that hair style? Are you in the market for new make-up? A few clicks on this app will bring the store to you.

"You can play around with eye shadows, eyeliners, mascaras, blush, foundation, lip gloss anything, and all you do is tap the color you want and it goes on to your photo," explains Sica.

The colors and products are replicas of what's in the stores so your finalized look is guaranteed.

"When we partner with a brand they supply us with all their product information, we study them, we try them on, we see how they would look in real life, we take that information, we use our technology to kind of translate that into a virtual application."

And there's even a link to buy it, once you try it.
