Sarasota's police chief helped capture a couple of suspect Saturday.
Chief Bernadette DiPino was off duty and enjoying lunch with her daughter when she heard the call to be on the look out for some suspects in a strong arm robbery.
She headed toward the scene of the robbery and spotted the suspects car. The chief began to follow them and called for back-up. Other officers arrived quickly and helped stop the car.
Three people who were in the car are being questioned about the robbery.
Chief DiPino says the first officers at the scene of robbery did a great job of giving and excellent description of the suspects and their vehicle.
This is the second time since she took over the department the chief's been involved in helping to capture suspects.
