Report: Differences in Regents scores based on examiner

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A report by the New York Post says when it comes to grading state regents exams, there's a big difference in scores based on grades the tests.

The Post analyzed test results from 2012 and compared them to 2011 and found schools that were allowed to grade their own student tests scored lower than schools where exams were graded in-house.

Test scores graded outside the school dropped and average of nearly seven percent from 2011 to 2012 while test scores at self-grading schools dropped just two percent.

The Regents exam will be given over the next few weeks across New York State.

2013 will be the first year all high schools will be banned from scoring their own tests.
