GULFPORT (FOX 13) -

Surveillance video from inside Yummy's restaurant in Gulfport released Friday by the owners shows the damage caused by a tornado, as it destroyed part of the business during Tropical Storm Andrea.

The twister that began as a waterspout moved down Beach Boulevard; Yummy's suffered the most significant damage in the town when a cedar tree was ripped apart and its branches were thrown into the restaurant.

Three surveillance cameras caught the events as they unfolded: one angle shows massive tree limbs falling into the restaurant; a second shows the small twister as it moves across the patio area; a third view shows the restaurant's windows blowing out.

A day after the business was badly damaged, owner Richard Reale said he planned to open on schedule.

"Everyday at 11 we open up and unfortunately [we won't have a] dining room, but that's okay," he said. "People still love to fill their tummies at Yummy's, and they come here and we'll be here for them like we always are."

Reale said it's a good thing the restaurant didn't open for business because the tables that were destroyed are among the most popular.

We're told the damaged portion of the business will be rebuilt. Reale and co-owner Lori Luczak said they might turn it into a walk-up ice cream area.
