Meehan Discusses Judge's Ruling, What's Next For Sarah

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A fighting chance at life has now been given to 10-year-old Sarah Murnaghan.

She is now on the waiting list for an adult lung transplant, after a judge made the decision Wednesday.

Child lung donations are hard to come by, and Sarah's battle with Cystic Fibrosis is causing life-threatening damage.

Her family is now hopeful that they will have enough time to find a donor, now that the age restriction is lifted for the next 10 days.

Sarah's heart is pumping harder because her lungs are now closer to giving out.

In addition to helping Sarah, the judge would consider the same decision to help another child that's as sick as she is.

"Good Day Philadelphia's" Mike Jerrick and Karen Hepp spoke with Congressman Pat Meehan on Thursday morning about just what this ruling means, and what's next.
