The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested a man who they believe shot and killed a teenager in Riverview Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at the Pinewood Mobile Home Park on US 301 at a little before 7 a.m. Deputies said Danny Larocco aimed a .45 caliber revolver at Amber Rose Baker, 19, and fired, hitting her in the chest.
Following hours of questioning and consultation with the State Attorney's Office, investigators charged Larocco with culpable negligence manslaughter, but haven't yet indicated why he's not facing murder charges.
Detectives said they interviewed several neighbors to try to get a clearer picture of what happened.
"Some neighbors heard some things," said Cristal Bermudez Nunez, a spokesperson with the Sheriff's Office. "[Neighbors have been] just telling us the history of things that may have happened in that residence, the relationship between the two, what kind of relationship they had and if they had any previous issues."
Friends said Baker and Larocco, 22, had been dating and had a history of problems.
