Florida Highway Patrol troopers have cleaned up the mess that caused delays on I-4 in Lakeland on Wednesday morning.
It started with a FedEx truck crash around 3 a.m. at the Kathleen Road exit ramp. According to troopers, the truck lost control and slammed into a guard rail – throwing packages across the road.
Officials shutdown all lanes of the roadway.
About two hours later a separate crash happened when a vehicle tried to stop too quickly for halted traffic. Avoiding a collision, it swerved out of the way and crashed into a guardrail.
It caused more than 100 gallons of fuel to spill onto the roadway.
All lanes have been reopened.
