The Bay area will finally get a break from the heat this week – but at the expense of rain.
FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg said a system of storms that was moving over western Cuba on Monday morning could bring rain to our area as soon as Monday night.
"We've got a lot of tropical moisture in the Gulf and Caribbean," he said.
It is a large system, stretching out into the middle of the Gulf, and it is expected to bring rain chances up to around 70 percent over the next three days.
"It's very disorganized right now, but it's packing a punch of rain," Osterberg said.
Our area saw some rain over the weekend, but this week's rainfall totals are expected to be more significant.
