It's a question a gun owner should know the answer to, but sadly, some do not. With my concealed weapons permit, can I carry a gun anywhere? Simply put, no.
"There are specifics, there are guidelines, they have to know them," said Dennis Rogers of Suncoast Concealed Carry.
State law shows a pretty extensive list of places you can't take a gun. Places like police departments, schools, airports and the list goes on.
But what about private businesses, places like grocery stores or restaurants? Rogers says the key is to look for a sign noting "NO CONCEALED WEAPONS."
"If they decide not to state law mandates it be conspicuously posted around eye level," he said. "If they don't care and are simply there to make money they won't post anything."
If you're thinking about bringing a concealed weapon to a theme park, don't. Busch Gardens says no way. Lowry Park Zoo? Not allowed there either. And like a gentleman in Orlando just found out, Disney has a no-gun rule too.
"The state law says it is up to the individual license holder to know the law," Rogers said.
Breaking that law could result in a felony charge, which is why responsibility and training are so important when it comes to owning and carrying a concealed firearm.
