BARTOW (FOX 13) -

It has been a long haul, and Kiera Wilmot just got the news she has been waiting for. The Polk School District is not going to expel her, and it is letting her go back to Bartow High this fall.

"I was just like, yes!" she told FOX 13 shortly after getting an e-mail with the school districts decision.

Kiera has been attending an alternative school since she mixed aluminum foil and toilet bowl cleaner in a bottle on the campus of Bartow High and it popped.

She was arrested, and gained international notoriety after the incident. In retrospect, she says she has learned a lot.

"To be careful what you do on campus and off campus," she said.

Eventually, the case was dropped. Her attorney says he still has more work to do. He wants to clear his client's name so the incident will not be a mark against her when she applies for college.
