TAMPA (FOX 13) -

There is now a $2,500 cash reward for anyone who can help detectives find who brutally killed a cat. The five-year-old tabby named Lion was found cut up in Plymouth Park.

According to police, a man was walking his dog in Plymouth Park yesterday morning when he spotted the partial remains of a cat.  He realized the cat belonged to his neighbor and immediately called police.

Officers determined the cat was killed at another location and had been recently dumped in the park.  An exam by Animal Services suggested that the cat was either stabbed or shot prior to being cut in half with a very sharp object.

Officers are asking for the public's help in tracking down Lion's attacker or attackers.  Anonymous tips may be eligible for a reward through CrimeStoppers at 1-800-873-8477 (TIPS).
