A 17-year-old girl was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash near Mulberry, deputies said.
Three people were inside a 1997 Ford Explorer heading east on SR 60. According to the driver, 27-year-old Lezet Mendoza, the vehicle swerved to avoid a "shadowy figure" in the roadway.
The movement caused the Explorer to roll over repeatedly.
The two people inside the car with Mendoza, 22-year-old Amanda Mendoza and 17-year-old Monica Gonzalez, were not wearing seat belts.
They were thrown from the vehicle.
Amanda Mendoza suffered a broken leg. Gonzalez was killed.
