Deputies say a 12-year-old girl was sexually battered while going door-to-door to sell juice boxes.
Jose Olquin-Sanchez of Thonotosassa now faces charges. The sheriff's office says the man invited the little girl inside after she knocked at his door.
Deputies say Olquin-Sanchez then grabbed her arms and wouldn't let her leave.
After the attack, the girl ran home and told her mother.
The man faces multiple charges, including sexual battery and false imprisonment.
Through her tears and disbelief, Mariana Diaz defends her long-time boyfriend.
"He is not capable of such a thing. He lived with my two young daughters and he never did anything bad to them," she said.
But now her boyfriend, 45-year-old Jose Luis Sanchez, is in big trouble, accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl.
On Monday, she was selling juice boxes in a mobile home community in Thonotosassa. She was trying to make extra money while her father worked nearby.
Deputies say when she knocked on Sanchez' door, he invited her in, then grabbed and sexually assaulted her.
Neighbor Ruth Long is a friend of the family.
"I guess from what her mother told me, she come running out the guy's trailer there with her pants down screaming," Long said.
Hillsborough sheriff's deputies say Sanchez lured the girl into the house, promising to give her more juice to sell.
And Mariana showed us organic energy drinks the couple sells from home.
Yet she refuses to believe the man she knows and trusts could molest a child.
"In the six years that we've been together, she says he never tried anything with us, I don't understand why he is accused of this," Diaz said.
