A black bear that caused quite a stir in a Tampa neighborhood Friday morning has been released back into the wild.
Officials tell us the bear was taken back to the Ocala National Forest. It wasn't its first trip to a big city. In December 2012, wildlife officials say the same bear showed up in Orlando.
The bear appeared to be moving well after the long trip.
It spent Friday morning up in a tree inside a neighborhood in the Egypt Lake area. Officials tranquilize the bear, mobilized it and moved it up to Ocala.
The bear spent several hours calmly on a branch about 20 feet off the ground. A neighbor said it was initially on the ground, but a dog scared it up the tree.
