May is Melanoma Awareness Month.

Dr. Misbah Khan, clinical professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College, discussed the importance of getting screened for skin cancer.

She demonstrated a screening method using a new machine called Confocal. Dr. Khan used the device to screen Greg Kelly for skin cancer.

Weill Cornell Dermatology is holding a free skin cancer screening clinic on E. 70th St. and York Ave. on May 17, from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

No appointment necessary and no insurance is required.

    Officials are investigating eight confirmed cases of mumps found in students at New Jersey's Stevens Institute of Technology.The college in Hoboken says the students range in age from 18 to 21. All were fully vaccinated with two documented doses of mumps-containing vaccine.

All were fully vaccinated with two documented doses of mumps-containing vaccine. Symptoms include swollen salivary glands, fever, headache, tiredness and loss of appetite.
