Will Gosnell Take The Stand During Penalty Phase?

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The trial for Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell now moves into the sentencing phase.

Beginning next Tuesday, jurors will decide if the 72-year-old should receive the death penalty or life in prison.

Gosnell was found guilty Monday of first-degree murder in the deaths of three babies. He was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the overdose death of a patient in his West Philadelphia clinic.

Gosnell's attorney says he respects the verdict.

"That's a lot of testimony and a lot of evidence and this jury worked very, very, very hard, and they should be commended," defense attorney Jack McMahon said.

The jury found Gosnell not guilty of murder in a fourth baby's death.

Also at the trial, Gosnell's co-defendant, Eileen O'Neill, was found guilty of conspiracy and theft by deception for pretending to be a licensed physician.

Attorney Ken Rothweiler joined "Good Day" live from the newsroom Tuesday morning to talk about the verdict.

In the video clip above, find out what Rothweiler's reaction was to the verdict, what he believes really motivated Gosnell, and why he says the penalty phase could be more interesting than the trial.

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
