"Kelly came out of the house, and she was screaming, you know, 'Help me, help me, help me!' that the kids and Eric, her husband, was still in there," one neighbor said.

Mother's Day ended the worst way ever for a young mother who lost all four of her children, her husband and her sister.

The family house fire so quickly that no one in the house ever had a chance to get out, and no one outside rushing to rescue had any chance to get in.

"There's no way anyone was getting into that building," March said.

The neighbor said, "No way. It went so fast. It was totally engulfed."

It got really cold up overnight in the mountains, 95 miles northwest of Philadelphia – near freezing.

Kelly Brown, who the fire chief says was right across the street doing laundry, says her husband put the wood stove on to warm up the house. It was on the second floor in the back.

All six inside asleep were in bedrooms directly above that stove, on the third floor.

"He lived for those kids," said another neighbor. "They were the only things that he cared about."

The four kids, two girls and two boys, ages 2, 3, 7 and 8.

Their father was just 30 and their aunt was only 26.

The house was said to be more than 100 years old  had no modern- day fire safety features.

It may not have had smoke detectors, surmises the fire chief, as no one heard alarms and no one seemed to wake up.

This city has not seen a fire death in over six years, but now six in one night.
