If you live in Florida long enough, you're bound to see a gator every now and then.
But one South Florida didn't see one in a pond – rather her porch.
She says she opened her front door, only to see one right on her porch. At first, she thought it was a prank by her husband – one of those inflatable gator pool toys.
But when the gator started moving, Jan Castaneda knew this was no joke.
"I wasn't sure what was going on," she said. "And then the alligator started breathing, and when his eyelids closed, they have several eyelids, and they closed – I knew it was the real thing. It kind of freaked me out."
The family called a trapper to get the 8-foot long reptile. Apparently the same gator frequently visits a pond near the home.
The trapper released it in the Everglades just to be safe.
