It was a chicken marathon like no other in Palm Harbor, as hundreds lined-up to grab dinner at the restaurant along Route 19, with 20 percent of the store's earnings going toward the Ireland Nugent Support Fund.
That particular store is right around the corner from the Nugent family and was happy to host mom Nicole Nugent and her 2-year-old daughter Wednesday afternoon.
Thirteen Chick-Fil-A's in Pinellas County and two more in Pasco County participated. Lines at their drive-throughs were wrapping around the buildings during the dinner hours!
Ireland you may recall, lost her feet in a lawnmower accident a few weeks ago and was just released from the hospital last weekend.
Since then, the community has really stepped-up, helping to raise money wherever people can, to help the little girl's family with their looming medical expenses.
There are also costs to add wheelchair access to the family's home, make changes as she grows to doorways and to bathrooms, so they'll be handicapped-accessible.
The Nugents are grateful for all of the support and are looking forward to attending Mother's Day services at their church, Trinity Presbyterian in Clearwater this Sunday for Mother's Day.
This will be their first time as a family at church, since the accident happened.
