Some Philadelphia airport workers are fed up with current conditions and took their complaints Monday to City Hall.
Philadelphia International Airport workers are filing federal complaints against three airlines and passenger service subcontractor PrimeFlight Airline Services.
The workers claim the wheelchairs are faulty which creates hazardous conditions for them and passengers with disabilities.
They also expressed concerns over PrimeFlight's lack of training and supplies for dealing with exposure to bodily fluids.
"It will help for everybody to realize how hard it is for us to do our own job... even our own company to realize that what they are doing is wrong," said Izzy Fernandez, a PrimeFlight wheelchair attendant.
The airport workers, along with disability rights advocates, are calling on the U.S. Department of Transportation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration to investigate their claims.
