Ireland Nugent is coming home this weekend.
"It's pretty cheery. Everybody's really excited. We are really looking forward to Ireland coming home," said Michael Delcorpo.
Ireland's grandparents have the important job of prepping the house for the 2 year old's return.
"A lot of it has been the decorating. We've tried to decorate the house, make it pink and purple, which are her favorite colors," he said.
That's the fun part, but many other changes have been made since the 2 year old lost her feet in a lawnmower accident.
"We've had a company that's come in and do all sorts of purification in the house to make sure it's medicinally clean and there's no risk of infection," Delcorpo said.
The home now has a new A/C unit and a freshly poured sidewalk, replacing the step that would have made Ireland's wheelchair ride difficult. Gifts from the community have been abundant.
They include a yard sale fundraiser was thought up by a child who lives nearby and a charity golf tournament
A Tampa auto company detailed their van for a clean ride back from the hospital. It's only the best for this 2 year old, who seems ready to come home
"(She) wants to see the kids, wants to see the rest of the family, so it's all pretty exciting, she really excited," her father Jeremiah Nugent said.
