An Atlanta family is asking people to be on the lookout for a precious perennial stolen out of their front yard.
The Roberts' family said they planted the expensive tree after their daughter was born. It was a three foot Bloodgood Red Japanese Maple.
The couple said they wanted to take pictures of their daughter each year alongside the tree to document how the two of them would grow.
The Roberts' planted their new tree in October and said it was growing beautifully.
Since it was stolen, neighbors have stepped up. They've been coming over with other kinds of plants to show their sympathy, but the family really wants their Japanese Maple back. Anyone who happens to spot it is asked to call Atlanta police.
