Police have ‘person of interest’ in UF attacks

Posted: Updated:
GAINESVILLE (FOX 13) -

Police say they've arrested a man who may be connected to a string of attacks near the University of Florida campus.

Police say this arrest is for a rape of a student at knifepoint back in 2011, but investigators are calling him a person of interest in the most recent rape of a UF student.

His name is Andre Locus. He's 29 years old.

There have been three attacks on female students since January.

Last week police released surveillance video that showed a possible suspect in one of the attacks. The video showed the man running through an apartment complex parking lot. Investigators believe the same man earlier broke into a female UF student's home, robbed her and then sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
