Alonso High School was in a modified lockdown Friday after investigators say one student threatened to kill another student.
The student reported the threat to school officials upon arriving at school this morning, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The school opted to go into a modified lockdown until deputies could find the student making the threats, the sheriff's office said.
They found and arrested 18-year-old Michael James Alessandrini around 12:30 p.m.
Detectives say he threatened the other student with a text message and voicemail.
Alessandrini is now charged with making written threats.
