DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) -

Following a 1.6 billion first quarter profit, Ford CFO Robert Shanks talks to Murray Feldman about what the record means to the company now and moving forward.

Play the video to hear Shanks answer the following questions:

What is the strongest part of the company?

What is the weakest?

What about the Lincoln brand?  Will sales pick up with more product availability?

Do Wall Street expectations have any influence on the company?

Is the company forecasting another round of buyouts or will there be a period of hiring?

Ford says net income rose 15 percent in the first quarter to $1.6 billion as record North American profits overcame weakness in Europe and South America.

Revenue rose 10 percent to $35.8 billion.

Ford Motor Co. earned $2.4 billion in North America, where sales of its F-Series trucks and Fusion sedan and Escape SUV have been strong.

That offset a $462 million loss in Europe, where Ford's sales fell 20 percent during the quarter.

The internet is like an elephant -- it never forgets. While spoken words leave little trace and are quickly forgotten, written words endure in the online environment. Whatever you post, tweet, update, share -- even if it's deleted immediately afterwards -- has the potential to be captured by someone, somewhere, without your knowledge.
