Two people were caught in a frantic situation when a sheriff's
office helicopter was forced to make a hard landing.
The pilot brought the 1968 OH-6 helicopter down on U.S. 19 in Crystal River about a half mile south of the airport.
The sheriff's office tells us an engine malfunctioned. The pilot and co-pilot were OK.
The FAA is going to investigate the incident.
