A Hillsborough County deputy had to go to the hospital after he chased down an armed robbery suspect who resisted arrest, and tried to gouge the deputy's eyes out, the sheriff's office said.
Deputy Felix Moret was taken to Florida Hospital where he was treated and released.
The situation unfolded when Moret was flagged down by a robbery victim at a bus stop.
The suspect, 21-year-old Lamont Graddy, was fleeing on a bicycle, according to the sheriff's office.
Moret caught up to him, and the two got into a struggle where Graddy threw punches and tried to gouge Moret's eyes, the sheriff's office said.
Another deputy arrived and they both had to use stun guns to subdue and arrest Graddy.
Graddy now faces a list of charges, including armed robbery and battery on a law enforcement officer.
