PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia firefighters say a home that caught fire Monday morning had everything it needed inside; smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, but still a 72-year-old man didn't make it out alive.

"Unfortunately, we lost another senior citizen in our community," Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said.

The home that caught fire was on the 500 block of Watkins Street in West Philadelphia.

The family of the victim, Alfred Reitano, told FOX 29 that a neighbor on the next block over called 911.

Lloyd believes the victim may have tried to put the fire out himself.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire. A cause of death is also still under investigation.
