This year, the Tampa Catholic High School Crusaderettes have made school history. By winning the Southeastern Regional Dance Championship, the dance and twirl teams achieved something no other team has.
These young women know what it means to work hard. They have been practicing countless hours to try to be the best -- and it's working.
"Just the fact that we pull our team together this year and finished on top it is just a good feeling knowing that all this hard work really paid off," offered Lauren Alford, a team captain.
Jordenn Wagner is a senior at Tampa Catholic. She's been twirling for four years and is the team captain.
"I love performing for my school," she said. "It's really fun and it's different."
Carly Miniet and her dance team also rocked the competition. "I cheered and screamed and clapped."
Sue Johnson has coached the team for 11 years. She knows how much work goes into being a champion.
"This is the best that we have ever done in the history of Tampa Catholic," Johnson said. "I'm so proud of them. They did such a good job. I mean, words can't express it and I will miss them desperately."
