LAKELAND (FOX 13) -

A 44-year-old Polk County man is accused of shooting his girlfriend three times in the head, severely injuring her.

Randall Scott Miller was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Carrollton, Ga., Friday morning. Deputies say the woman, Micki Pickren, is expected to recover from her wounds. She's still in the hospital in stable condition.

"Randall Miller shot his girlfriend three times in the face and head when she tried to get away from him.  He tried to kill her, yet she miraculously survived," Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement. "After shooting her, he dragged her back into his truck, drove around, and dumped her out, leaving her for dead.  He belongs behind bars, and we're happy he's there."

Miller is charged with attempted murder and kidnapping.

Miller was booked in a Georgia jail. He will be brought back to Polk County.
