FBI releases images of two marathon bombing suspects

BOSTON ( -- The FBI released images and surveillance video of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings Thursday.

At a press conference, FBI officials said the public will play a critical role in identifying the men accused of committing the bombings.

Investigators say the suspects should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. They asked anyone who sees the men not to take action on their own and to immediately contact law enforcement.

FOX 25 obtained and released a photo of suspect #2 at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. A high-ranking federal law enforcement official confirmed that the photo was, in fact, of suspect #2, the suspect wearing a white hat. Investigators believe suspect #2 dropped at least one bomb before heading west on Boylston Street.

Suspect #2 was wearing a white hat with a dark, black logo on the left side. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket.

Investigators say suspect #2 was the only suspect believed to have been captured planting the bomb.

Suspect #1 was wearing a darker baseball hat, khaki pants, white t-shirt, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and black jacket. His baseball hat appeared to have a white logo and one white stripe going down its right and left side.

Surveillance video shows suspect #1 walking down the sidewalk with suspect #2 following behind him.

The FBI says there is no official, imminent danger they are aware of.

Anyone with information on the marathon bombing suspects is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324) and choose prompt 3. Tips can also be e-mailed to
