Don't text or tweet USF softball coach Ken Eriksen -- he won't see it. Coach Eriksen tunes out every distraction to focus on the little things that make a big difference for the Bulls.
"Got to, got to, there's too much going on in the world. We come out here in the grass and get to play for three hours a day. We try to keep it fun that way," Eriksen said.
Bulls players agree with their head coach. Junior shortstop Kourtney Salvarola considers practice a break from exams and the pressures of college.
"For a lot of us coming out here is sort of like our outlet. I can just come out here and enjoy being with people I enjoy being with. It's nice. It's like a little mini-vacation everyday we get to have."
The focus and the fun pays off for USF. The Bulls have won 29 of their last 31 games. They've won a dozen straight Big East games. They're ranked number 24 in a couple national polls.
The Bulls plan to keep having fun and winning all the way to the post season. They'd very much like to host regionals at their sanctuary, the USF Softball Stadium.
