Polk woman caught on camera stealing smokes, hitting clerk

LAKELAND (FOX 13) -

Investigators with the Polk County Sheriff's Office are looking for a female robbery suspect.

Shonta Denise Wynn stole a pack of cigarettes and struck a store clerk early Saturday morning at a Lakeland convenience store.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office report Wynn, 28, entered the Circle K location at 4950 US Highway 92 East at approximately 2:30 a.m. She went behind the counter, stuck the pack of cigarettes in her waistband and attempted to flee.

The clerk told Wynn she must pay for the pack but she took off after hitting the store employee. Surveillance video shows Wynn committing the crime.

She is no stranger to law enforcement with several arrests in Polk County since 2003. Wynn stands 5'7'' tall and weighs 270 pounds. She was last seen driving a green, four-door 1994 Mercury with tinted windows – Florida tag M61 5KX.

The suspect's last known address is 2042 Alderman Rd. in Auburndale. In addition to the robbery and battery charges investigators say Wynn is also being sought for three outstanding warrants for giving false information to law enforcement and aggravated battery.
