SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) - A police chief says his officers seized more than 67 pounds of methamphetamine from an apartment in metro Atlanta.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports officers serving a search warrant at the apartment in Sandy Springs also recovered $20,000 in cash and 2.4 kilograms of cocaine. One man was arrested.
Police say they were alerted to the apartment on Roswell Road after somebody complained about noticing suspicious items inside during fire sprinkler inspections.
Sandy Springs Police Chief Ken DeSimone said Friday it's the biggest meth bust ever made by his department. The city formed its own police agency in 2006 to take over duties from Fulton County police.
The man who was arrested was not immediately identified by police.
