Argument turns violent in Bradenton, one man arrested
Vanvort, 58, is facing aggravated battery charges stemming from Friday night's incident in Bradenton.

An argument between two men turned violent Friday night in Bradenton.
The altercation ended with one man in the hospital and the other in jail facing aggravated battery charges. Steven D. Vanvort was booked into the Manatee County Jail where he is being held without bond for a probation violation.
According to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report the suspect was hanging out at the home of 56-year-old Ray Lee when the two men got into an argument.
The discussion quickly heated and spilled out into the front yard of the residence in the 3700 block of 14th St. West. Investigators say Vanvort, 58, armed himself with a knife and stabbed Lee in the upper torso.
Deputies and emergency service personnel were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. Lee was taken to Blake Medical Center where he was treated for a non- life-threatening injury and released.
Vanvort was not injured during the scuffle. He is no stranger to law enforcement in Manatee County. Jail records indicated he was on probation for a prior driving under the influence conviction
